Katrin Pribyl is a senior correspondent, having previously worked in the U.K. and the Middle East. Since 2021 she's the Brussels-based EU correspondent for a pool of major regional German newspapers. Her main remit has been to report on the European Union and Nato as well as current affairs in the Benelux countries.

  • Freelance foreign correspondent in Jerusalem, Israel, 2013
  • After completing her journalism traineeship at the newspaper Südkurier in Konstanz, she was appointed editor in the economic and political department, with a focus on foreign policy
  • Several months spent in Damascus, Syria, in 2009 learning Arabic
  • MA at Leipzig university, studying German language and literature, ethnology and journalism. During and following her studies, she worked at national and regional newspapers, online media and ZDF, Germany’s public-service television broadcaster

Before her move to Brussels, Katrin spent 8 years as the UK & Ireland correspondent for German media outlets, spearheading coverage on Brexit, Westminster politics and UK current affairs. As an expert analyst of British and European politics, she also featured regularly on British television and radio (BBC, Sky News). Prior to that, she lived and worked in Jerusalem, Israel.
